I recently embarked on an effort to learn rust properly and i wanted to share some of my thoughts.
What is rust programming language good for.
It provides zero cost abstractions generics functional features and plenty more.
Especially vr but more on that later.
Rust was originally designed by graydon hoare at mozilla research with contributions from dave herman brendan eich and others.
Rust was designed primarily as a systems programming language by the mozilla foundation.
Rust is a modern systems level programming language designed with safety in mind.
According to the stackoverflow surveys rust has been the most loved programming language for the last four years in a row.

Rust is syntactically similar to c and provides memory safety without using garbage collection but instead through the use of a borrow checking system.
I do think that rust the language is a good fit for those domains as correctness and speed both seem important here.
However the ecosystem of off the shelf libraries to do existing tasks may be a bit sparse.
The primary game development language over the past 20 years have been c c majorly.
Rust works amazingly well for real time computer graphics.
For example compared to c the main advantage of rust is safety.
Rust has many advantages but it depends on what you are comparing it to.
Rust is good for building distributed online.
C does not protect its own abstractions and thus it does not truly allow programmers to protect theirs.
Most of the people that have tried out rust would like to continue using it.
Needless to say i m heavily biased here because i love both rust and real time computer graphics but maybe that s not entirely a coincidence.
Rust brings a fresh change in approach from object oriented to data oriented.
